a condition marked by fever and often by unconsciousness, caused by failure of the bodys temperature-regulating mechanism when exposed to excessively high temperatures
It is a condition caused by your body overheating, usually as a result of prolonged exposure to or physical exertion in high temperatures. This most serious form of heat injury,heatstroke, can occur if your body temperature rises to one hundred and four F forty C or higher. also known as sun stroke, is a type of severe heat illness that results in a body temperature greater than forty C and confusion. Other symptoms include red, dry or damp skin, headache, and dizziness.
Symptoms of Heat Stroke
- Throbbing headache.
- Dizziness and light headed
- Lack of sweating despite the heat.
- Red, hot, and dry skin.
- Muscle weakness or cramps.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Rapid heartbeat, which may be either strong or weak.
- Rapid, shallow breathing.
Heat exhaustion happens when your body gets too hot. This occurs when your internal temperature reaches at least hundred four F. Heatstroke is much more serious than heat exhaustion. It can cause shock, organ failure, or brain damage. In extreme cases, heatstroke can kill you
